How Can We Improve NYBN?

NYBN WANTS TO GET BETTER... AND WE NEED YOUR HELP TO DO SO! If it wasn't for our members & visitors, NYBN would just be another fish in an endless sea of nonsense websites. We realize that NYBN is far from perfect and that is why we are asking for…

Parent, Fan, Business Owner
About Me:
When my son was about 8, he told me he wanted to play baseball all year. I had heard of the whole travel baseball thing but didn't know anything about it. I was a soccer player my whole life. Being the good dad that I am, I started searching for a team. What a mess! It was very difficult to find a team. As I was searching for a team, I couldn't help but wonder why there wasn't one place for somebody to go to find out about the Long Island baseball community. Long story short...the Long Island Baseball Directory was born!

After a year or so of meeting the wonderful people that make Long Island baseball tick, I decided to create an online community where we could share ideas and keep up to date with what is happening. I called this website LIBaseball.net.

LIBaseball.net was growing so fast that people outside of Long Island wanted to be part of it! That's when I knew it was time to expand the site to include the entire state of New York. Welcome to the NY Baseball Network!

If you believe that this is a good idea, all that I ask is that you invite your friends, teammates and coaches to join you here. You can do so by clicking on the INVITE tab located at the top of this page.

Remember, the NY Baseball Network is FREE to join!

Thanks again and Enjoy!

Mickey Mantle played 7 years without ever hitting the ball!

Posted on November 28, 2011 at 2:03pm 0 Comments

When kids get upset about not getting a base hit every time at bat, just quote them this....

"During my 18 years I came to bat almost 10,000 times.  I struck out about 1,700 times and walked maybe 1,800 times.  You figure a ballplayer will average about 500 at bats a season.  That means I played seven years without ever hitting the ball."  ~Mickey Mantle, 1970

I know it probobaly won't help, but it is funny way of looking at the game of baseball.  I…

"Field of Dreams" to become youth baseball complex!

Posted on November 1, 2011 at 10:47am 2 Comments

The owners of the "Field of Dreams" in Dyersville, Iowa, have finally found a buyer — more than a year after planting a "for sale" sign in the ground along with their corn.

The original list price of the property made famous by Kevin Costner and Ray Liotta was $5.4 million, but a sale price…

Hi Scott.  I sent you an e-mail last week in response to your post, but I realized I may have had an old email address from an old Bulldog list.  Thanks for your good wishes to Josh.  Say hello to Brian and the rest of the Hillis crew from us.  Tell Brian we hope he has a great season and wish him good luck if he is trying out for his Middle School team.

Also, the new website looks great!

Scott:

Edit / HTML / paste exact code I gave you.  Then Save.

I hit "edit" then HTML & text box accepts the pasted code, but only shows the title in the black box after "Save".  IE & Firefox yield the same result.

I uploaded a logo file with the image button, no problem, just to see.  Will not process the same HTML code I gave you.

Thanks.
